Apple Cherry Pie

Seems about right that we kick this blog off with a delicious, hot dessert! So this bad boy is my easy dessert that I usually make when I’m eating a Shabbos meal at a friend and I can’t help but wana share the ooey-gooey goodness (get used to that phrase, unfortunately for you, I say it a lot)!


  • 1 graham cracker crust
  • 1 or 2 red apples
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 of a lime or tablespoon of lime juice
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp van extract
  • pinch of pumpkin spice, which is basically nutmeg and cinnamon but its optional ok sorry for that long explaination, mindee u seriously almost looked professional till that last ingredient! cmon!

Peel and slice the apple thinly and keep a handful of apple chunks to add to the crumb toppng for texture and because yum that’s why! Layer the apple slices and coat in the lime juice for a great sweet and acidic mix. Add the cherry filling. The crumb topping is a combo of the last 5 ingredients(if its not the right crumbly consistency, add more of the oil or flour to get it right) plus the handful of apple chunks and layer it evenly on top with a single cherry for va-va-voom! Bake on 300 degrees for an hour and 15 minutes or so and you will have jealous sniffing neighbors, trust me, the UPS guy loves delivering over here! Serve with ice cream, please.
