Zesty and Sweet Chili

I’m not really much of a chili lover, but, boy, did I love this chili lime chili!!


  • Ground turkey
  • 1 Large white onion
  • 2 Sweet potatoes
  • 1 Can tomato sauce 
  • 1 Can fire roasted garlic tomatoes
  • 1 Can small red beans
  • 1/4 Cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp chili lime spice
  • 1 Tsp coffee rub
  • Some mexican chili flakes, optional
  • 1 Large tomato
  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 Small red onion
  • 1 Lime
  • 1 Can corn

Saute the chopped white onion until browned a bit and add the ground turkey and cook through. Add the chili lime spice, sweet potatoes, tomato sauce, canned tomatoes, chili flakes, coffee rub, sugar and beans. I also added about 1 can full of water. I let this cook for over 2 hours and it is perfect for a slow cooker option that you toss into the pot in the morning and have a wonderful, delicious, satisfying dinner when you get home. I served the chili on a toasted bun with the avocado salad and corn on top or with corn tortillas for dipping. For the avocado salad I just chopped avocado tomato and red onion and added the  juice of  one lime and a little chili lime spice.
