I decided to try creating a veggie burger and I did not nail it perfectly because it does have a more crumbly consistency than what I wanted, but after I tried it, I knew I had to share these incredible flavors with you!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 1 Can of garbanzo beans
- 1 Medium onion
- 2-3 Cloves of garlic
- 1/2 Can peas and carrots
- 2-3 Tsp smoked paprika
- 1 Tsp sweet barbeque spice
- 2 Tbsp bold barbeque sauce
- 1 egg
- Salt n pep
Place the garbanzo beans in a pot with a lot of water and on high until boiled. Keep on high for 5 minutes then remove from the heat and let them soak for over an hour. Meanwhile, saute an onion until it gets a little brown and add the smoked paprika and garlic. The smoked paprika is really important in this recipe because it gives the burgers this insane smoked barbeque flavor! And it taste like little bacon bits!
Add the peas and carrots (I rinse them first, dunno why, seems like a good idea) and the barbeque spice. After the beans have soaked for at least an hour, it’s very easy to remove the weird outer shell because it floats to the top and if they don’t, squeeze a handful lightly and they pop right out of them.
Dry the beans and mash them up. Intensely. Let out all of that built up frustration! It’s good for ya! Then add the veggies and everything else and mix it altogether. I would try the mixture here to see if it needs more salt or something. Shape into patties, coat in flour and fry in a pan. They are kind of crumbly so flip them gently. If they do fall apart, don’t worry; it still tastes amazing in a taco-crumble-salad, as displayed below. Thank you for stopping by and, as always, have fun in the kitchen!
I am posting this simple salad recipe because I feel that if there is even one person on this planet that has never tried some sort of variation of this salad, it is my obligation to show you true happiness!
I use romaine or iceberg lettuce and chop it up and add corn, red onions and the most delicious bbq tortilla chips from Golden Fluff that are absolutely amazing alone and one can finish an entire bag in one sitting if one wanted to even though one might not admit to it. 😉After you crushed up the awesome taco chips, add the dressing of medium salsa combined with mayo and presto! Your done and a whole lot happier! The best thing about this salad is that you can change the recipe up and add different things to make it more to your liking. You can add tomatoes, avocado or ground meat or rice and it will be incredible. I have faith in you. And dont ever let anyone tell you that salads are boring and meh. Salads can be fun and different and delicious! 😄
This chicken recipe is how I imagine KFC chicken tastes minus all the grease because this chicken recipe has no frying, my friends.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Chicken drumsticks
- Corn flake crumbs
- Pam oil spray
- Sweet ‘n’ Tangy BBQ spice
- Candied bacon from my previous recipe
It is a pretty simple recipe that turns out crazy crispy and not dry at all even though it’s baked. Coat the chicken legs in eggs and then corn flake crumbs that were spiced with sweet ‘n’ tangy bbq spice, paprika and a little salt. Spray the pan and chicken with a lot of pam and try to bake them standing up against the pan so that they can stand alone afterwards. bake for 35-45 minutes. You can stop right there if you want; after all, crispy chicken like this is absolute perfection.
Because I’m over the top crazy I don’t stop there. I let them cool and coat in candied bacon, from the facon post, because this crispy chicken plus the sweet and salty meat is a piece of heaven! Hope u try this one because i don’t know about you but i always wanted to try KFC chicken.
